I am dead. President Obama's speech officially killed me. I don't know what to do with the rest of my day now. Just...blink blink.

So I will ask, since a lot of you seem to be involved in RPs. Here is what I've established from looking through Bleach RPs and deciding they aren't for me:

RP stuffs:

I need characterisation - I devote myself to my characters, and although I'm happy to kill, maim or torture them for the plot and take on someone else, I don't want it to suddenly happen half way through a conversation.

I need structure - Something with strong mods, please, and an ethic for following the rules.

I need plot - plot, plot, plot. Either long running vague arcs, or intricate interpersonal plots. I don't mind. I want something to engage me, some purpose behind my character's day to day existence.

I like writing long paragraphs, so no one liner communities.

I love dark storylines, where something is happening or characters have to fight to survive. Violence is fun and sex is human nature.

I prefer RPing that is either in a chat or forum setting, where either the forum is the process, or there's a posting of logs once the RP is complete, or if it's a Play by Play community journal.

That is, I don't like first person journal posting, or communication RP where characters just talk to each other. Actions speak louder than words.

I don't mind taking on characters that other people have played before, so long as they're not intimately involved with another character.

So if you have any ideas, tell me! I'm looking for a community, or several, which fit this kind of specification. Something to fill in the long summer afternoons that have started crawling in on me. Please help me? If there is something you can think of, I need you to enthuse me about it. Tell me how active it is, how nice the other players are, how much fun you're having. Tell me about the current storyline arc and tell me what characters you'd love to see and tell me how much you want me to be there. Because I am seriously clutching at straws now. I didn't know it was so hard to find.

I have only briefly looked around on what's out there, but I never seriously considered joining any organised RP game, so I'm afraid I can't help you. I'm heavily and happily involved in a private 1-on-1 RP instead with a good friend. That way I can avoid all the bad stuff that seems to crop up in most RP games (wank, outrage, cliqueishness, sudden plot inflicted without consent or discussion, unreasonable characters/players...) that inevitably suck all the fun and enjoyment out of it. This way I get the fun, the long plot arcs, the silly intermissions, the meta and discussion, the ability to find a solution when characters have entangled themselves too deeply into angst, etc. Only bad thing is that one doesn't make new friends through it. *g*

I have a wonderful RP partner too *waves to her if she's reading this* who I would never give up for all the tea in china - and india too.

The RP game I've been in for the last year and a half is closing at the end of this month - and up until last month when it was announced that it was closing I was pretty heavily involved in it. So now I have a hole, and it's bothering me -- like, I don't know...the feeling you get when you sit in the bath and drain all the water out? I have this empty space that I want to fill up with something, and the closest thing I can think of is to try and find something vaguely similar to plug the gap.

Checkmate? That's where I currently RP and it's pretty fun :D It's canon up to the point where Aizen won the war, so it get's pretty dark/heavy. The mod's pretty awesome, too! And so are the players :3

Oh, actually, it's been going six months - I might be able to read that much... Hum. Mmm... I am into rp, but I wouldn't know what to tell you because basically I'm in for the smut I care about plot to a certain extent.

Also I think most lj comms require both playing in 1st and in 3rd person... Anyway, I play at microcosm_rp, if you want to, idk, take a look >D

Hmm, RP... you'll have to tell us how that goes, if you pick a comm and join. I sort of peer at it from the sidelines, haha. It's not that I don't find the idea interesting but, for some reason, I keep shying away from it, even though I have a particularly good friend (*points up at chamyl*) who keeps nicely trying to get me into it. :D

Sooooo, the dirty world of rp. There is always bleach_dressing which can provide you with either serious rp or crack.

I have played out some epic plots there, that have lasted months in the planning and I have also played silliness (like Sexy Shun Says... lol).

I also play at microcosm_rp and the_love_hotel but both are mainly for the smex - although, are both very fun in their own rights.

One of the longest plots I ever played out was at isleoftortuga which was much fun.

I also love private rp, either for straight plot or smut (I like all rp) and have accounts for pretty much anyone you could think of (because I have no life...lol)

Hope this wasn't too much tl;dr and that my comment isn't too far out of line.

*waves* Hello! Thank you for all the links. You have illuminated me, hahah. The RPs I've done before have all been third person, so the first person perspective or loose third is still a little hard for me to conquer.

I seem to be doing pretty well, though, looking. Lots of interesting places. I think I've spent most of today reading other people's threads, lol.
