Jun. 19th, 2007 11:38 amFor your pleasure:
In primary news, my passport is STILL not sent for; I only hope that two weeks means two weeks, because if not I'm going to be facing some hasty explaining. It only goes to question the sensibility of having a closed border to the UK. I wonder how many people have snuffed it trying to get over there. And why? Because they make it too good a life; let me see - free health care, free education, free housing, free money, even. Making it more difficult for legitimate citizens to go home.
Oi...I hate islands.
In other news, Lyria is here, and she and I have been collaborating in a mountain of squee. Although a considerable, exhaustive amount is Potter, and OMG SECTUS, I find sweet pleasure in a good amount of Giles and Spike adoration (although she doesn't like GilesxSpike *whimper*) Then again, we have so much in common anyway; there's a collab on the cards, and we've both been quite busy learning new things - for instance, a maximum number of pages that we can read in 12 hours, assuming no or little interruption, and a burst of pure terror when we realised that actually, we have to organise the Beat the Boggart Task STRAIGHT AWAY, because by the time us tired denizens have finished reading Deathly Hallows, we'll be thrown nose first into that task! Wow, but isn't it going to be exciting?
Mostly organisation has revolved around when to slip off and get our four hours of coveted sleep that night, and we're quite keen on the last snip of time before the release party starts, so don't expect either of us to be around when we canter back to our beds for our required kip, and then hopefully we'll be fresh and pretty all night. Fingers crossed.
I've been working on a map of Hogwarts, which looks fantastic, and hope to be able to ink the rest of it tonight when we're watching more Buffy. I've been...having small battles with Gryffindor Tower, which I figured out is STILL all wrong...but what I've decided to do is go for six boys dormitories underneath the seventh floor common room, and then one boy's dormitory and seven girls dormitories above, which allows for the slanty staircase that won't let boys ascend, because frankly, I've been in confusion central about how to do that, and it seems like the only way that it can work.
On another note, it means that Harry, Dean, Seamus, Ron and Neville are all almost girls. (*snickers*)
Yesterday the two of us went on a very long, very fantastic walk around in the woods, and we all got bitten a lot, which is not nice at all; but we took the horse, and the dog, and took turns riding and walking...and shoul have taken more than a bottle of sour water and a bottle of flat pop, but what can you do? It was great though...a very long way XD All my fault, of course, counting the fact that we got completely lost directionally no less than three times, and could have been walking in the forest forever, like Hansel and Gretel (and their dog and horse, but without the gross witch trying to eat us).
Today we're going into town, I hope...but not until I find my old passport and birth certificate and stuff, so we can finally get this sent off today. My paranoia level is so amazingly high right now - but at the same time, I'm forcing myself not to think about it, and just be happy, and ohgod, I wish it hadn't been left so late.
Seriously. Help me.
By the way, Wednesday, I haven't had an e-mail from them either *sad* I don't think Lyria has either. I'll have to be waking her up.
